Sustainability
We believe that creating a better world for generations to come starts today.
Our Collective Responsibility
We're committed to making a positive impact on campus and the community by focusing on responsible sourcing, reducing food waste, and offering nutritious meals packaged sustainably as a way to promote a more circular service mode. From supporting local partners to making thoughtful choices in our dining halls, we're working every day to build a more sustainable future. And you can be part of the effort too!
Our Menus Make an Impact
We are dedicated to increasing access to wholesome, environmentally sustainable, and socially mindful offerings wherever we can within our menus and dining operations.
Our People
People are at the centre of everything we do and so we’re focused on equity and wellbeing for our employees and guests, the people in the communities where we live and work, as well as the people in our supply chain.
Engage Our Employees
Engaged employees are safer, more productive, and able to provide stronger customer service for our guests.
Empower Healthy Consumers
Empowering students, staff, and faculty on campus to make healthier lifestyle choices every day.
Source Ethically & Inclusively
Partnering with small, diverse suppliers to drive customer satisfaction and local economic impact.
Our Planet
We focus on the wellbeing of our planet by minimizing environmental impact across all of our dining operations, from the food we serve to the facilities we manage.
Source Sustainably
Minimizing the impact to people, animals, and the environment through responsible purchasing practices.
Minimize Food Waste
Diverting food from going to landfill to improve food security, while at the same time helping to fight climate change through reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Embed Circularity
Increasing reuse models in service and replacing traditional single-use materials with recyclable and compostable alternatives.
One Planet, Shared Responsibility
Our initiatives are designed to address specific priorities at the local level, while still ensuring a direct contribution to the United Nations’ global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our Local Partnerships
We source our food from many local farmers, producers, and distributors. Our partnerships change throughout the year depending on seasonality and availability.
